I love how you review what it IS rather than focus on how it’s not an AMG or M car. Great review as always. For those in Europe who are unaware, in North America, these will commonly last 500,000km or more with nothing but regular oil changes, wipers, brakes.

like the taxi mercedes e class of germany reaching the milestone 1000000kms

Lenovo P90 … and in the states, an E class doesn’t last anywhere near a million km.

It’s funny how the world works.

    • Avatar

@Lenovo P90 Maybe, but with what cost? When you have almost 2euro/km (beacuse, of course, we talking about e class taxi here, privete cars never reach such milage) it's easy to mantain and to replace a lot of parts. Look at countries in Europe where the price per km is 1euro or even lower: you'll see mainly toyota hybrid (prius and auris sw).
Lexus will reach high milage WITHOUT CHANGING A LOT OF PARTS, ONLY REGULAR MAINTANCE. This is the big diference between german and japanese. If you have money, you can put 1 milion km on any car. That doesn't make them good cars.

Having just bought a used NX300h and updated the satnav, almost fell off my chair with laughter with your "wise men" comment. I totally know what you mean.

I like the Gran Turismo-esque music. Fitting for a review of a Japanese car.

Off topic. Hopefully you have an iPhone ? When you next test a VAG car with wireless CarPlay please can you test the phone battery drain rate over say an hour if you are navigating with Apple Maps and streaming Podcasts or Music that is stored on the phone at the SAME time. Also does the phone get hot. Thanks in advance

    • Avatar

I don't have an iPhone, but I heard from friends who do that wireless CarPlay drains battery like mad, and induction charging is barely enough to keep the battery at a constant level.

Marek Drives Thanks for the informative feedback. If you get chance to ask if they could put some numbers on it that would be 👍 Are we talking say 20% per hour streaming and navigating at same time Thanks again

Consensus is: unstable, drains battery, use a cable.

My 2014 Insignia Country Tourer (I found this channel because you reviewed my car) has the same kind of terrible touchpad between the front seats, moving a mouse pointer of sorts between touch targets on the display. I never use it because unlike this Lexus it has a touchscreen so I can use the infotainment like a normal human being would.

    What about regenerative braking?

Is this your driveway that you pull in to at the end of each video?

    • Avatar

      I wish 🙂
You can see a bit of my driveway in the Vanderhall and Kona EV reviews. It's much smaller. Works only with small cars and motorcycles.

Great Review, I just don’t understand why Lexus continues to put those horrible touch trackpads for the centre computer screen. Every car journalist in the world has said how horrible and bad this system is, Eespecially when your driving at the same time. I don’t think Lexus even bothers to listen to consumers or journalists feedback. I have personally tried it in the new ES300 and it was enough to stop me from buying it, it was so frustrating to use!. Put a touch screen instead or fix up the layout menu so its easy for people to use and navigate.

I like the ES, it's something different on the road. I was looking at those sunglasses in an Airport today, I'll get them from the affiliate link 😇

so the luggage is as big as it is, cant be expanded?

New RayBan? 🙂 Review great as usually….

Anyway, my volvo d4 eats 4.5-5 L per 100 km much better than hybrid

One car I'd never buy. The value is simply trash

  18. Avatar

Lol, it had a dent in the driver's door.

  19. Avatar

Still not sure about that spindle grille.

  20. Avatar

No idea why you would buy a fwd, cvt, "luxury" car like this. Boring and useless user interface. It's a big boat and that's about where the positives end. Will it last forever? Yes, but why do you want to drive something this dull for that long?

  21. Avatar

You didn't mentioned that ES is slowest also on top speed. It's only 180 km/h. What do you think? Does it matter in nowadays market?
Multimedia: 😀 it reminded your thoughts about Citroen DS5 buttons review a few years ago. It seems that designers made because if it looks up to date it should work.

    Best cars, Lexus, Toyota, Mazda…

Lovely car , BIG shame it has no Diesel engine!!! ☹☹☹👎👎👎

Lexus GS is still sold alongside the ES in Canada. I have to admit the Lexus vehicles are incredibly well built. They seem to be bullet proof and are great for people who want to own their cars. BUUUT, as you pointed out, the Japanese designers are obsessed with gadgets and they build unnecessarily complicated systems. Their professional video cameras are crazy when it comes to software systems. Stuff you use all of the time are buried into 8 pages of menus.

Dear Toyota, most people are not geeks, in fact many are just lazy and less than swift. Just look at the iPhone. It's designed so that a complete idiot can use them. It's simple, and intuitive. Take note.

Mr Marek. It would be great for many learners if you added subtitles to the english version.🤓
    Could you?

  27. Avatar

The best car you can buy. Built of the highest quality and unlike any manufacturer on the planet, the car will last forever with little to no issues. No one makes quality and reliable cars as Lexus.

  28. Avatar

The CVT is on the hybrid version. The non hybrid Lexus uses a traditional gearbox.

When will the 2020 Lexus es 350 be released to showrooms?
